I WANT TO BELIEVE of the Day: A cat owner from Yangshan in China’s Jiangsu Province claims his cat gave birth to a dog.

According to Zhou Yun, the cat had whelped two kittens, but one of them died. “I then noticed the other kitten surprisingly looks like a dog,” Zhou told reporters.

Lai Xiaoyun, the party-pooping president of a local pet clinic pointed out that cats don’t generally tend to yield dogs, and that, more likely, the cat, distraught over the loss of her kitten, stumbled upon a litter of puppies and claimed one as her own. “Cats and dogs are two different species and it’s impossible to have joint descendants.”
